Big Announcement! China-Austria (Changzhou) Innovation Center Set to Launch This November, Ushering in a New Era of Cross-border Innovation
Combining the innovative vitality of Europe with the industrial soil of Changzhou, the China-Austria (Changzhou) Innovation Center hereby officially announced that the industrial park will grandly open in 2025. The Innovation center positions itself as a “cross-border innovation hub and industrial empowerment platform,” linking high-quality resources from China and Austria to inject new impetus into the high-quality development of Changzhou and the Yangtze River Delta.
Strategic positioning and core significance
The China-Austria (Changzhou) Innovation Center is the first physical international cooperation innovation center in China, jointly established by China and Austria. It is of great significance for the two sides to facilitate industrial partnerships, conduct joint research and development, and carry forward project implementation.
The Austrian partner organization, Austrian Technology Group (ATC), is a technology export organization separately supported by the policies of the Austrian Ministry of Science and Technology and the Austrian Ministry of Economy. It is also certified by the Austrian Federation Chamber of Commerce. ATC is the leading organization in the field of high-tech solutions in various industries in Austria. As part of Austria's export promotion strategy, ATC aims to further facilitate the international expansion and market entry of Austrian technology suppliers. At the moment, the key sectors for ATC's cooperation with China range from industrial automation and energy conservation to smart cities, smart agriculture, and environmental technologies. Meanwhile, ATC establishes strategic alliances with Austrian export financial institutions and international operators, forming a tripartite service network integrating technology, finance, and operation. To date, ATC’s partner companies have a combined annual turnover of approximately 27.07 billion euros and employ more than 114,000 people.
Why “China-Austria”? Why “Changzhou”?
As an important carrier for deepening industrial and technological cooperation between China and Austria, the industrial park has been entrusted with the mission of “internationalization” and “professionalization.”
l China-Austria collaboration
Relying on Austria's industrial advantages in the fields of intelligent manufacturing, auto parts, green technology, and digital economy, the park connects with domestic universities, research institutes, and leading enterprises to build a comprehensive chain service system of “technology research and development → technology transfer → industrial landing → market expansion.” It aims to accelerate the application of European cutting-edge technologies in Changzhou.
l Anchored in Changzhou
As a base for advanced manufacturing in the Yangtze River Delta, Changzhou has trillion-yuan industrial clusters in rail transit, new energy vehicles, and intelligent equipment, which highly aligns with Austria's advantageous industries. The park is located adjacent to Changzhou's industrial core area, enabling quick identification and satisfaction of the local industrial chain demands. The park, furthermore, connects to the world through the “land, water, air, and rail” transportation network of Changzhou.
What can the industrial park offer you?
Not only “physical space”, but also “ecological empowerment”
Unlike traditional industrial parks, the China-Austria (Changzhou) Innovation Center focuses primarily on “ecological con-construction” to create a “one-stop growth space” for all enterprises, entrepreneurs, and talents.
l Platforms for industrial connection: The industrial park regularly holds “supply and demand alignment meetings” and “technology salons” between Chinese and Austrian enterprises. It helps domestic enterprises take advantages from Austrian technological resources and assists Austrian enterprises in exploring the Chinese market.
Supports from local policies: The industrial park integrates local industrial policies in Changzhou and particular support funds for China-Austria cooperation, targeting the full cycle of enterprise registration, R&D investment, and talent introduction.
Comprehensive chain service: The industrial park offers a full suite of services including business registration, legal consultation, cross-border financing, and intellectual property protection. In addition, the park provides ancillary facilities, such as meeting rooms and exhibition centers, which allows enterprises to “move in ready and focus on business development.”
Incubation space for innovation: The industrial park sets up a “China-Austria Joint Innovation Laboratory” to provide technical testing and prototype development support for university research teams and start-ups, accelerating the transformation of innovative ideas into products.
We sincerely invite you to join our new chapter in 2025
From blueprint to reality, every little step reflects the growing momentum of “cross-border innovation” activities. During the China-Austria (Changzhou) Innovation Center will hold series of events simultaneousloy, such as “the China-Austria Industrial Innovation Forum” and “Austrian Enterprise Special Promotion Conference.” Meanwhile, the industrial park plans to invite representatives from Chinese and Austrian governments, industry experts, and leaders of leading enterprises to discuss collaboration opportunities.
At this moment, we sincerely invite:
- If you are an enterprise deeply engaged in intelligent manufacturing and green technology, there are fresh opportunities of industrial chain collaboration for you.
- If you are an entrepreneur full of innovative ideas, there are cross-national academic, industrial, and research resources to support you.
- If you are an observer concerned about industrial upgrading, there are solid cases of China-Austria cooperation for your reference.
